Joanna Różewska

Outstanding Polish pianist and laureate Joanna Różewska performed for the very first time in the US. The concert was organized by the Polish American Club of Greater Sacramento and was held at the Club's Community Hall on March 5th. The program consisted solely of Chopin's works, in celebration of what would be the composer's 206th birthday.

Caroling

In January, our Club traditionally organizes Polish carols (kolędy) singing. This year, as usual, we sang to the piano accompaniment by Barbara Wróblewska, with other artists showing their skills as well.

Chopin Concert

In February and in June 2014, our Club hosted Michał Korzistka, a prominent Polish pianist, who played wonderful music by Frédéric Chopin.

Professor Michał Korzistka has studied classical piano at the Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, at the Postgraduate Piano Department of Academy of Music in Warsaw and then continued his studies in Zurich, Switzerland. He currently is a full time piano professor at Cieszyn Branch of the University of Silesia.

As a performer, he has a special place in his heart for classical and romantic composers: Beethoven, Mozart, Liszt, Szymanowski and Chopin.
